Compliance testing may be a requirement for facilities with state issued EPA Air Pollution Control Permits. Periodic Compliance Testing measures the various air pollutants that exit the stack. Standardized testing requirements can vary depending on a facility’s category of work.
Standardized testing requirements may include:
- Solvents and Organic Flavoring- Volatile Organic Materials (VOM)
- Natural gas to heat, cure or bake products including Nitrogen Dioxides (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Sulfur Dioxide (SO2)
- Powder Coating -Particulate Matter (PM) Emissions
- Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP) testing based on the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP)
Sometimes facilities may not want to test for stack emissions due to air permit mandates. There are times when a client only has a desire to know the amount and composition of their emissions from their stack. In these cases, a client can request a Diagnostic Test, rather than a Compliance Test.
