Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS)

Now more than ever employers are taking responsibility to ensure the safety of their work environments and communities. At Mostardi Platt, we are clued into the latest Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS). CFATS monitor the serious risks associated with hazardous chemicals. Some risks include the threat of sabotage, theft/diversion, and/or release of hazardous chemicals – all of which require reporting by facility.  There are 300 such Chemicals of Interest (COI) that require this type of reporting if the chemicals are kept or transported over certain Screening Threshold Quantities.

CFATS reporting uses an online survey known as “Top-Screen” to analyze risk factors associated with these chemicals and their activities. Impacted facilities vary widely from chemical storage, manufacturing, and electronics, to power, plastics, and healthcare facilities.  Mostardi Platt’s team of experts can not only pull together your facility’s CFATS report but can continuously manage and properly secure your facility’s hazardous materials, keeping your organization in compliance with these Federal standards.

For assistance with your CFATS reporting, please provide your details here and we will be in touch shortly.
