With over 19 years of experience in the utility power plant sector, Tom has held various roles throughout his career. He served as President of a Chicago-based construction company for 10 years, honing his leadership and operational skills. Since 2010, Tom has been a key member of Mostardi Platt, where he has contributed to the company’s growth in a variety of capacities, including his current role as Chief Executive Officer.

Tom’s leadership facilitated the successful expansion of Mostardi Platt's fleet and its international operations, particularly in Qatar. More recently, he has played a pivotal role in the company’s expansion into the Colorado, Nevada, Texas, and Pacific Northwest regions.  He continues to be instrumental in advancing process improvements and internal operations.

Tom has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University and an MBA from the Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. He is a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Illinois.

Dan brings more than 20 years of executive leadership and operational experience to his role as Chief Financial Officer at Mostardi Platt. Over the course of his career, he has served in senior executive roles across diverse industries including manufacturing, media, and environmental services where he led companies through major organizational transformations.                        

At Mostardi Platt, Dan oversees all financial functions, guiding strategic growth, optimizing fiscal performance, and supporting expansion of services as regulatory and industry demands evolve. His broad experience in integrating acquisitions and managing complex financial operations helps to ensure that the company remains financially stable and well positioned for sustainable growth. Dan holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in Accounting from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Eric has over 25 years of experience in the environmental field and has provided project management and consulting services in multiple regions nationwide at a variety of industrial facilities for both federal and international regulatory agencies. He has managed performance test programs for numerous environmental control projects. Eric established procedures for the on-site analysis of hydrogen chloride and ammonia by chromatography, and of mercury samples by Method 30B Utilizing the Ohio Lumex low flow Hg thermal desorption system.      

As Executive Vice President of Air Emissions Testing Operations, Eric oversees all aspects of Air Emissions Testing (AET) for Mostardi Platt. In addition to managing daily AET operations, Eric plays a fundamental role in expanding the scope of AET services both nationally and internationally.

Eric has a BS in Human Resource Management and Psychology from Lewis University as well as Graduate level courses in Environmental Management and Sustainability from Illinois Institute of Technology-Stuart School of Business.

Rich has been a leader in environmental solutions since 2009, specializing in source sampling across industries including cement, mining, pulp and paper, cogeneration, and petroleum. His comprehensive expertise encompasses project management, FTIR instrumentation, and compliance testing. As Vice President of Mostardi Platt’s Air Emissions Testing West Region, Rich serves clients with a hands-on approach, ensuring precise evaluations and providing actionable insights. He studied Computer Science before entering the environmental industry and holds QSTI, OSHA, and MSHA certifications, reflecting his commitment to excellence in his field.

Since joining Mostardi Platt in 1978, Ken has played a pivotal role in overseeing the firm’s operations and client relations.  He has spearheaded projects across a variety of sectors, including industrial manufacturing, energy, and public infrastructure and has coordinated projects in more than 45 states and extending into Canada and Puerto Rico.

As Vice President of Air Emissions Testing Logistics, Ken oversees air emissions testing equipment and manages the company’s fleet of specialized vehicles, ensuring all assets are fully equipped and operational for field deployment.

Ken has a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Lake Forest College and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Jeff has been a prominent figure in environmental engineering since 1987, focusing on air pollution evaluation and testing for various industrial and commercial applications. He has designed and implemented air test programs from the initial request to the final report, supervised in-house training programs, and performed QA/QC analysis and emissions test reports for hundreds of emissions testing projects annually.  Jeff has worked with the power, chemical, steel, refinery, food processing, printing, and other industries to design and evaluate test methods and programs.  

Jeff’s responsibilities as Vice President of Air Emissions Testing Project Planning include designing and managing emissions test programs, supervising field crews, and ensuring QA/QC standards.

Jeff holds OSHA certifications and is a Six Sigma Green Belt. With a BS in Electrical Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Jeff is dedicated to enhancing industrial performance through innovative testing methods.

Britt is a seasoned Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional with over 31 years of consulting experience helping clients across diverse industries achieve compliance and manage environmental risk. As the Director of Consulting Operations, Britt specializes in the development and implementation of EHS Management Systems, air and water permitting, and comprehensive EHS auditing. He has worked extensively with clients in manufacturing, food production, energy, and infrastructure sectors, providing expertise in emission control, storm water management, OSHA compliance, and emergency response planning. Notably, Britt has successfully overseen environmental compliance programs for multinational corporations. His dedication to environmental stewardship and strategic compliance management has made him a trusted partner for businesses navigating complex regulatory landscapes.

A Registered Environmental Manager and Certified Environmental Auditor, Britt holds a BS in Biological Sciences from Northern Illinois University.

Joel has been a valued member of the Mostardi Platt team since 1997, performing a wide variety of services for clients including, but certainly not limited to, performing Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance audits for industrial facilities, developing electronic EHS regulatory compliance management programs for various industries, and completing industrial air emission, wastewater, and storm water discharge permit applications for submittal to regulatory agencies.

Under Joel’s leadership, Mostardi Platt’s Compliance and Permitting groups were combined to form the EHS Consulting group. Joel's years of experience managing compliance and permitting clients provides a unique frame of reference to develop more collaborative and comprehensive projects for both existing and potential clients. This initiative, which also encompasses Engineering Services, is a mature evolution of the Permitting group, where more advanced technologies and services provide more effective client solutions.

Joel has a BA in American Studies Political Science from St. Olaf College and an MA in Environmental Studies from the University of Illinois.

Russ has over 38 years of experience as a geologist in the environmental consulting field. Throughout his career, he has tackled a wide range of environmental issues including spill responses, underground storage tank releases, mergers and acquisitions support, and securing No Further Remediation (NFR) letters for site closures. Russ knows the IEPA TACO Regulations inside and out and has used both risk-based approaches and hands-on remediation techniques—like electro-resistive heating, metals stabilization, and permanganate treatment—to resolve soil, groundwater, and soil vapor problems.

Russ is a Licensed Professional Geologist with a BS in Geology from Bradley University and an MS in Geology from Texas Tech University.

Dan is passionate about sustainability, relationship building, and delivering measurable results that align with each client's environmental goals.

Dan has a BS in Environmental Biology from Eastern Illinois University and is a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Jillian began her career in the environmental industry in 2007 and has been leading teams in the full spectrum of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) responsibilities ever since. Her experience in the industry includes environmental and safety auditing; minor and major source construction and operating air permits; regulatory violation response and agency coordination; agency site inspections; individual and general NPDES permit applications; and air permit deviation, Notice of Violation and Notice of Intent to Pursue Legal Action support.

Since joining Mostardi Platt, Jillian has been working with clients in various industries including power generation, foundries, food manufacturing, hospitals, and universities to provide compliant EHS permitting and consulting solutions. She enjoys working with Mostardi Platt’s existing clients, as well as building relationships with new clients looking for full-service environmental solutions.

Jillian holds a BS in Environmental Science from Indiana University.

With over 40 years of experience in both government and consulting roles, Michael brings a wealth of expertise to the Mostardi Platt team.  His career achievements include overseeing $20 million in site remediation projects under CERCLA and RCRA Corrective Action, and working closely with DOJ and EPA attorneys to secure nearly $18 million in settlements, and serving as a government witness in court.  Michael's EPA achievements include receiving the National Silver Medal and Bronze Medal for his contributions. His areas of expertise span energy, air pollution control, PFAS, indoor air quality, and site remediation, with a particular focus on the national costs of transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources.

Today, Kyle focuses on business development, drawing on his technical expertise to build trusted partnerships and deliver compliance-focused solutions tailored to each client’s operational needs. His background infield work and project execution allows him to work closely with facilities to understand site-specific challenges and to craft tailored strategies that align with regulatory requirements and sustainability goals.

Bob cofounded Mostardi Platt in 1976 and worked tirelessly for over 45 years to make the company one of the global leaders in the environmental industry that it is today. As a Registered Professional Engineer and licensed attorney, he brought a unique blend of technical and legal expertise to the business. His certification as a Six Sigma Green Belt reflected his commitment to process improvement and operational efficiency that continues to be core to the company’s mission.

Bob continues to serve on Mostardi Platt’s Board of Directors. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Marquette University’s College of Engineering and a JD from Northern Illinois University’s College of Law. His professional affiliations include membership in the Air and Waste Management Association, and he serves on the Board of Trustees for Edward Elmhurst Healthcare and the Advisory Board for the University of St. Mary of the Lake. Additionally, he is a member of the YPO Gold Presidents Organization, which connects leaders committed to lifelong learning and shared growth.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Field Investigation Lead: Plan and execute field investigations, including soil borings, monitoring well installation, soil vapor sampling, and surface water/groundwater sampling

• Site Assessment (Phase I/II): Perform Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) to evaluate potential contamination risks

• Data Analysis & Modeling: Interpret analytical results using the IEPA Tiered Approach to Cleanup Objectives (TACO) and other Illinois standards

• Remediation & Compliance: Develop and implement remedial strategies (e.g., UST closures, excavation, in-situ treatment) and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, specially the IEPA Site Remediation Program and Leaking Underground Storage Tank Program, and Resource Recovery and Conservation Act Program

• Technical Reporting: Prepare technical reports, work plans, and proposals, providing analysis of findings

• Subcontractor & Project Oversight: Coordinate with and supervise subcontractors(drillers, labs, remediation contractors) to ensure high-quality data collection• Client/Regulatory Interaction: Communicate findings and project updates to clients and regulatory agencies

• Project Management: Responsible for preparing high quality deliverables, managing project deadlines, tracking project budgets, and invoicing• Understand and follow Company policies and procedures

Qualifications

  • Technical Mastery: Comprehensive knowledge of EPA Reference Methods (including 1-5, 6C, 7E, 10, 25A, 320, etc.) and the ability to process lab samples and titrations.
  • Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude, computer literacy (MS Word/Excel), and the ability to operate specialized test equipment and hand tools.

This is an active, field-based role that requires:

  • Lead environmental compliance and permitting projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, timelines, and client expectations are met
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and acting as a trusted advisor
  • Review and interpret state and federal environmental regulations and apply them to client operations and projects
  • Oversee and perform technical work, including emissions calculations, regulatory analyses, and report preparation
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on compliance approaches, permitting pathways, and risk management
  • Mentor and support junior staff, including reviewing work, providing feedback, and helping develop their skills

Required Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:
10+ years of relevant experience in environmental consulting, regulatory compliance, or a related field.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Test Technician at various locations. The Test Technician will be responsible for performing equipment testing and calibration, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining accurate test records. The role involves working with technical test equipment and ensuring all instruments are properly configured and functioning. The technician will also communicate findings, collaborate with team members, and adhere to safety standards and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Troubleshooting technical issues and diagnosing problems with equipment
  • Strong Communication skills to effectively convey findings and collaborate with team members
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records
  • Ability to follow safety protocols in on-site and testing environments
  • Pack equipment as instructed by warehouse staff for a variety of projects in order to become familiar with the air test equipment including nozzles, thermocouples, pitots, probes, probe liners, filter holders, filter ovens, impingers, umbilicals, and meter boxes.
  • Participate in projects following instructions provided by the Test Engineer, pushing probe correctly, measuring static pressure and performing a wet bulb/dry bulb measurement for moisture.
  • Understand and follow Company policies and procedures as directed by your supervisor and as specified in the Employee Handbook
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is a plus
  • Prior experience in a similar role and familiarity with environmental testing is a plus
