If your facility has air pollution control permit issued by your state EPA, one of the requirements may be to perform Compliance Testing periodically to measure the various air pollutants which exit the stack.
See our list below for a comprehensive list of standard testing requirements depending on your facility’s category of work:
- Solvents & Organic Flavoring – Volatile Organic Materials (VOM)
- Natural gas to heat, cure or bake products – Nitrogen Dioxides (NOx), Carbon Monoxide (CO), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Sulfur Dioxide (SO2)
- Powder coating – Particulate Matter (PM) emissions
- Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP) – testing based on the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP)
In some cases, a facility might desire to test for stack emissions not because their air permit mandates, but because they desire to know what is the amount and composition of their emissions. In that case, the facility would request a Diagnostic Test rather than a Compliance Test.
If you have questions about your facility’s existing air permit, perhaps you need to revise or apply for one or if you need to schedule stack emission testing, please contact Mostardi Platt at 630-993-2100 or visit request more information here.
